ABJ: Hot Wheels! on very new track
Gaming company Velan Studios is partnering with Mattel Inc., to create Hot Wheels: Rift Rally, a radio-controlled car that can be customized into 140 variations of the classic Hot Wheels toys, the Albany Business Journal is reporting.
OK, we at FoothillsBusinessDaily.com were having a hard time understanding just what the ABJ meant with the mixed-reality driving game, so we went and watched the trailer for the game. Basically, it’s a RC race car with a camera that shows the car burning rubber around the living room, but the players driving the car watch on the TV/computer/phone screen, much like a drone pilot can watch the flight from land. At the same time, the car on the screen is whatever Matchbox car the player wants it to be, and there are targets, gates, and a track outlined on the screen for the players to follow. The ABJ says this is the first time that Velan Studios has sold the physical product.
Related: At the same time, Velan’s online-only Knockout City game will shut down to make room for other projects, the story says.
