ABJ: DOT closes in on I-787 study
The New York State Department of Transportation is near ready to hire a consultant to "re-imagine" the future of Interstate 787 in Albany, the Albany Business Journal reports. The study will determine how to reconnect downtown Albany to the Hudson River on the other side of the interstate, some railroad tracks and bridges. On an engineering designations list, Parsons Transportation Group of New York Inc., ranked first; Stantec Consulting Group of of Edmonton, Canada, ranked second; AECOM USA Inc. of Dallas placed third. DOT expects to pick from the three by spring, the story says.
