Hiland Park Country Club in Queensbury is open for business, the Post-Star is reporting. The club is taking advantage of the warmer-than-normal January and letting golfers hit the links for some less-than-optimal golfing. The advantages to mid-winter play in the north country: the ponds freeze and the ill-hit ball does not drop to the depths but skids across safely to the other side. They’ll stay open until the next big snow, the story says.
